Team representing the country - Deployment of SEK with DFB team: gaining knowledge for home European Championships
Participating in the European Football Championship in their own country is a significant task for Germany's national football team. To ensure success in a home tournament, the DFB players are learning from a special operations team.
Team coach Julian Nagelsmann adopted a concept initiated by the team psychologist Hans-Dieter Hermann during their training camp in Blankenhain. Nagelsmann referred to it as "an essential program point," taking place today in Thuringia.
"A SEK team must operate flawlessly. It must have solutions in all situations, support each other, and be highly proficient in communication. I believe there are many aspects that can benefit both men and women," said Nagelsmann on gaining insights from the police. According to Nagelsmann, the team can benefit from the SEK's harmonious functioning. "Supporting one another, being there for each other, remaining calm under pressure, and finding solutions. That's what the team requires. I anticipate that the boys will learn a great deal from that."
No coaches or Nagelsmann himself will be present at the program with the SEK. Bayern professional Thomas Müller is excited about the experience: "I hope to learn a lot there because it's about group behavior in stressful situations. It's about witnessing functional behavior patterns and learning something on a practical level."
