European Football Championship - Denmark fears for Eriksen and Delaney
The Danish Football-National Team is worried about the EM-Quarterfinal match against Germany on Saturday (9 pm/ZDF and MagentaTV) in Dortmund regarding the participation of playmaker Christian Eriksen from Manchester United and record national player of the EM semi-finalist from 2021.
As National Coach Kasper Hjulmand confirmed, midfielder Eriksen of Manchester United and record national player of the EM semi-finalist from 2021 is complaining about stomach and intestinal problems and therefore missed training in the morning. "He is feeling better again. We expect him to be able to play tomorrow", said Hjulmand.
Thomas Delaney does not seem to be on the road to recovery yet, who suffers from similar problems as Eriksen. Whether the former Bremen and Dortmund professional Delaney, as planned, can replace the banned midfielder Morten Hjulmand, remained open by the Danish coach: "We have a plan B for every player."
Independently of the recovery of the two pros, football coach Hjulmand sees his team in the outsider role, but believes in a chance. "Germany is one of the favorites. But we also have a great team. They have to be very good to beat us", said he. Defender Jannik Vestergaard (Leicester City) expressed himself similarly: "The Germans have world-class players in their ranks. We will try to be annoying and play to our strengths."
- Despite the concerns surrounding Christian Eriksen and Thomas Delaney's health issues, the Danish national soccer team is set to face Germany in the European Football Championship quarterfinal at Dortmund on Saturday, broadcasted on ZDF and MagentaTV.
- The Danish team, led by Coach Kasper Hjulmand, has a strategic backup plan for every player, including Delaney, who is working to recover from similar stomach and intestinal problems as Eriksen.
- Germany, known for its world-class players, is considered one of the favorites in the tournament, but the Danish team, with Eriksen and Delaney (if they recover), believes in their chances and aims to use their strengths to produce an upset.
- The Danish national team's stellar performance in the last EM semi-final in 2021 underlines their confidence, as Eriksen, the record national player from that tournament, will be a crucial element in their strategy to compete against Germany.
- Eriksen, a key player for Manchester United, has been overlooked in training due to his issues but is expected to be fit for the highly anticipated match against Germany in Dortmund during the European Football Championship's round of sixteen.
- Delaney, with his previous experience playing at Bremen and Dortmund, forms part of Denmark's midfield, and his recovery will be crucial for injecting strength into their game plan for the EM clash against Germany.
- The Danish national soccer team and its supporters, including those watching the game on ZDF, will keep their fingers crossed for the health of Eriksen and Delaney while hoping to witness a historical upset against one of Europe's most powerful soccer nations in Germany.
