De Zerbi, a potential candidate for Bayern, is now available for selection.

Roberto De Zerbi and Brighton and Hove Albion are parting ways after the current season. Thisdevelopment could potentially pave the way for FC Bayern to recruit the Italian to replace coach Thomas Tuchel.

Roberto De Zerbi might be the new coach for the renowned German soccer champions, Bayern Munich. The Italian manager is set to leave Brighton and Hove Albion after the current season despite having a contract that stretches until 2026. The English Premier League team made this announcement. Recently, many signs pointed towards De Zerbi continuing his stay at Brighton.

"We've reached a mutual agreement to end Roberto's contract at a convenient time for both parties. This allows us to plan for next season while also giving Roberto enough time to consider his next steps and his future," the statement from the club read.

De Zerbi's interest in Bayern has been noted on several occasions lately. Munich's sporting director Max Eberl is well acquainted with the 44-year-old. "My friend says the best things come last. We'll find an excellent solution," Eberl shared during an interview with Sky ahead of Bayern's game against TSG Hoffenheim. Bayern is still searching for Tuchel's replacement as he is scheduled to leave the club this summer. They earlier tried to sign Austrian team manager Ralf Rangnick, Xabi Alonso from champions Bayer Leverkusen, and German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann.

De Zerbi's decision to leave his current club comes as a shock. Just before announcing his departure, he spoke to "The Athletic," stating: "If you ask me if there's a club capable of enticing me to leave Brighton: No, there isn't. I'd love to remain here and achieve our highest goals each season." However, he added: "But first, I must discuss this with Tony (Bloom, club owner), Paul (Barber, managing director), and David Weir (technical director)." The outcome of this conversation has now made it possible for FC Bayern to try courting him for the German league.

De Zerbi led Brighton to the Europa League last season, but the team is currently standing in tenth place in the Premier League heading into the final matchday on Sunday after some subpar performances. They were knocked out in the round of 16 in the Europa League. Reports suggest that Bloom is considering a change in management, with Thomas Frank from Brentford FC being the front-runner for the position.
