Béla Klentze: A Name to Remember in the World of Painter - Dangerous humanitarian effort

A harrowing experience, filled with emotions, as reported in the "Bild" newspaper, actor Béla Klentze (35) almost didn't make it out alive during his trip to help people in Ukraine. Having participated in RTL's "Let's Dance" and played on the soap opera "Alles was zählt", Klentze spent nine days in the war-torn nation, providing aid. He narrowly escaped from one location before it was bombed and leveled to the ground.

"An overpowering sense of gratitude"

In 2018, Klentze danced alongside professional partner Oana Nechiti (36) on RTL's "Let's Dance", making it to the seventh spot. At the time, he was still a key member of the "Alles was zählt" cast. Since 2021, he's shifted his focus to other projects, including forming his band "Stairway to Violet". Known to be active since April 2022, the brutal conflict in Ukraine couldn't pass him by. Klentze decided to volunteer in the war zone to offer aid: "We ventured into the danger zone as part of a humanitarian organization with a security team." While in Saporischschja, he visited an orphanage, distributing food, clothing, and toys. In the process, he felt a deeply profound sense of gratitude.

"I cheated death in Ukraine."

As part of his Ukraine mission, Klentze faced the horrors of war and grew accustomed to the relentless chaos: "At first, we hid under every air raid siren and darted to bomb shelters. But after two days, we had become accustomed to it - that's how insanely strange it sounds." His brush with death came when his living quarters were bombed and ruined: "I nearly lost my life in Ukraine. The place where we stayed was ravaged and demolished 24 hours after we left. Not once did I consider abandoning our mission."

A heartbreakingly memorable interaction with a Ukrainian girl

During his nine-day trip, Klentze was affected by his encounter with a ten-year-old girl named Anastasia. Her father is still missing in action, likely deceased. "Anastasia fixed her eyes on me while we were there and may have seen me as a kind of father figure given her dad is currently involved in the conflict. We don't know if he'll ever come back."

Additionally, Klentze shared this touching moment: "The little girl came up to me and embraced me [...]. Then the two of us started crying together. That was truly unforgettable." His friend unintentionally captured the interaction on video. Klentze intends to use it in a music video for his new track "Save the Planet", with the girl's mother's approval. The footage will be used to highlight the crisis areas worldwide.
