Country singer Joe Bonsall dies at the age of 76

Mourning for country singer - Country singer Joe Bonsall dies at the age of 76

US-Country-Singer Joe Bonsall, long-time member of the award-winning quartet Oak Ridge Boys, is dead. According to the group and his spokesperson, Bonsall passed away due to the complications of his ALS disease. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) causes damaged nerves and progressive muscle wasting. The singer, who lived in the US state of Tennessee, was 76 years old.

The Country and Gospel singer joined the group in 1973. Among their hits were songs like "This Crazy Love", "Elvira", "American Made" and "No Matter How High". Despite his illness, Bonsall performed on stage as recently as September 2021. In January, he announced his departure from the ongoing tour of the group.

The award-winning group received Country accolades and was inducted into the renowned Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. In December 2018, the group performed at the funeral of the former US President George H.W. Bush in Texas.

Bonsall also wrote several books. His memoirs "I See Myself" are scheduled for release in November.

The Oak Ridge Boys, hailing from the United States, gained fame with Joe Bonsall as a member since 1973. Despite his residence in Tennessee, Bonsall's love for music led him to perform in Los Angeles, showcasing his talent even as he battled Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
