German football team's player Joshua Kimmich shared intimate details about his challenging period during the vaccination discussion, focusing on his personal life in the ZDF docu "Joshua Kimmich: Leader and Pioneer". He remarked, "Essentially, it's referred to as the pandemic for the unvaccinated, and Joshua Kimmich is the face of the unvaccinated, so he bears responsibility for the pandemic."
That period was tough. "When friends tell you that had I gotten vaccinated, fewer...", Kimmich says with a shaky voice, adding, "So a friend tells me that fewer people would have died had I gotten vaccinated. That's brutal."
Kimmich decided against getting vaccinated during the Corona-Pandemic. At some point, he was forced into quarantine as an unvaccinated contact, and Bayern withheld his salary during that time. Later, he disclosed that he would get vaccinated. He also expressed that he felt lonely during this process, explaining, "That was the start of a descent, I realized how the club responded, which led to feelings of disappointment and shock."
