- Confirmed: Bayern to sell de Ligt and Mazraoui to ManUnited
Defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are leaving German football champions FC Bayern Munich to join Manchester United. Both clubs have confirmed this. No details have been provided about the terms of the transfer.

FC Bayern's Board Statement
In Manchester, de Ligt will sign a contract until the summer of 2029 with an option for an additional year. Mazraoui has signed until the summer of 2028, also with an option for an additional year.
"Matthijs is a player who always gives his all and leaves his heart on the pitch – fans will always remember his decisive header in the Champions League knockout game against Paris St. Germain. Nous has also consistently delivered here for two years," said Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl.
De Ligt's Farewell Message on Instagram
The 25-year-old de Ligt bid farewell to Bayern fans on Instagram with emotional words. "It was an immense honor to have played for a wonderful club like FC Bayern for two years," he wrote. He wished the club many more titles.
De Ligt had joined Munich from Juventus Turin two years ago for around 70 million euros in transfer fees. However, the center-back did not establish himself as an undisputed starter at Bayern.
Right-back Mazraoui also joined Munich from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer of 2022. The Moroccan national team player arrived on a free transfer but struggled with inconsistency in his performances. In Manchester, the duo will reunite with their former Ajax Amsterdam coach, Erik ten Hag.
In the Premier League, Manchester United is expected to bolster their defense with the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. The Dutch and Moroccan players respectively, having left Bayern Munich, are set to sign long-term contracts with Manchester United.
