- Comedian Nikki Glaser from the USA is overseeing the Golden Globe Awards Ceremony.
Nikki Glaser, a 40-year-old U.S. entertainer and humorist, has been chosen to emcee the Golden Globe Awards in January. The Golden Globe Authority's Helen Hoehne praises her as a "comedy force," with an "unapologetic and frank humor" that suits the role, as per her statement.
Glaser views her assignment as a "tough gig." The event is live, unscripted, and attended by Hollywood's most celebrated personalities - "possibly sipping champagne while seated next to their most recent heartbreaks," she quipped. She vows to uphold the legacy of witty hosts like Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, or Amy Poehler who have graced the stage before.
Glaser is renowned for her stand-up comedy, podcasts, and talk show hosting. She's also made notable appearances in television series and comedies like "The Dating Queen."
The 82nd ceremony will occur on January 5, 2025, in Beverly Hills. Approximately 300 international journalists will vote for the awardees.
Last January, comedian Jo Koy spearheaded the 81st show. The historical film "Oppenheimer" bagged five Golden Globe trophies, including Best Drama, Best Director, and Best Actor/Actress. The awards were presented in 27 film and TV categories. As per the organizers, around ten million viewers tuned in to watch the live telecast on CBS.
Glaser is thrilled about the opportunity to receive ['Awards and honours'] at the Golden Globe Awards, considering it as a significant recognition of her comedic talents. Despite the pressure, she aims to deliver a performance as captivating as the past hosts, including Tina Fey, who have won numerous ['Awards and honours'] in their respective careers.
