Bundesliga - Clear signs: FC Bayern against Union Berlin not until 2024

The canceled Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and Union Berlin will probably not be rescheduled until next year. All indications from the weekend point to this.

Talks between the clubs and the German Football League (DFL) are ongoing. Union spokesman Christian Arbeit confirmed on Radioeins vom rbb that the new date is likely to be 2024.

Both teams would have time in the coming week because they are no longer represented in the DFB Cup. However, according to the work, no Bundesliga matches may take place on cup match days. This was also confirmed by the German record champions. On Sunday, they also announced a public training session for their fans this Tuesday (10.30 a.m.) at the club grounds.

In the following week, Tuesday and Wednesday are blocked by the final group games of both clubs in the Champions League. A midweek Bundesliga matchday is then planned before Christmas anyway. After that, the short winter break begins.

Decision likely at the start of the week

The DFL had announced that a make-up date would be announced soon. A decision is expected at the beginning of the week. A match date in January is likely, as there is no English week at the start of the year. After the short Christmas break, the season will resume on January 12 with Bayern' s home match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Due to the weather chaos in southern Germany, the match between the league's bottom team from Berlin and the record champions was canceled. Safety risks due to the extreme snowfall and the traffic situation made a cancellation unavoidable, as the runners-up from Munich had announced.
