European Football Championship "Germany - Denmark" - Clear ratings victory for ZDF

A German rainy evening in Dortmund and a briefly interrupted match could not stop the German National Team: The team of Julian Nagelsmann (36) could enjoy a deserved 2:0 win against Denmark and a place in the EURO quarterfinals on Saturday evening (29. June). The ZDF also received traumatic TV ratings from the game.

According to AGF Video Research, 23.65 million people aged three and above watched the game on regular TV on ZDF from 9 PM. Although these quotas are lower than those of the game against Switzerland the previous Sunday and the group game against Hungary on June 19, these may be explained by the good weather in some parts of Germany. Sports bars and public viewings are not included in the quotas.

However, with 76.8% of the market share, the ZDF is still the clear winner. Among the 14-49 age group, it even reached 86.3% - the best value for a 9 PM game at this EURO.

RTL is also pleased with the ratings for the Switzerland-Italy Achtelfinal match at 6 PM: Nearly half of the TV audience tuned in - 6.65 million viewers (45.5% market share) in the first half and 8.84 (46.3%) in the second half. Among the younger audience of 14-49 years, RTL even reached 59% of the market share.
