ZDF expert on England star - Christoph Kramer criticizes Jude Bellingham: "Sometimes he's annoying"
England's Matchwinner Jude Bellingham received criticism from German ex-National player Christoph Kramer for his behavior after scoring the winning goal in the EURO-16th round against Germany. "He is indeed an outstanding player, but he needs to be careful not to start getting airs in such a young age. What I find really bad is when one winks at one's own teammates. He had a few gestures in there, even in the previous games," said the ZDF expert on Sunday evening. England had previously won 2:1 in extra time against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen – thanks to Bellingham.
Bellingham switched from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid last year and became Champions League winner with the Royals. "If there's too much self-confidence, he has that a bit at the moment. I admit that, but at the same time, one has to pay attention when one is Jude Bellingham, so it doesn't turn into a mere trifle," criticized Kramer a day after Bellingham's 21st birthday. "But still, one has to pay attention, when one is Jude Bellingham, that it doesn't turn into a mere trifle."
Kramer hopes that Bellingham reflects on himself after the EURO
Bellingham has already scored two goals at this EURO, but stands out for sloppy gestures and extremely passive phases. Both the second group game against Denmark (1:1) and the third against Slovenia (0:0) passed him by. "I hope that he reflects on himself after the tournament during the summer break. I'm not the only one who thinks that, he can be quite annoying at times," said Kramer in Gelsenkirchen. The midfield star should be aware of the high load of a long season.
Bellingham was named Player of the Match after his equalizing goal. "That could be a kickstart for the rest of the tournament. We stood under great pressure, we showed character today," said the pro.
