Christoph Kramer commences a fresh employment opportunity with "Lifelong Aspiration"
After leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach, football pro Christoph Kramer hasn't found a new club yet, but he's secured a new job. Starting Tuesday, you'll see the 33-year-old in action, but this time, he'll be holding a microphone instead.
This season, Kramer will be making regular appearances as a football analyst for the Champions League on Prime Video. Kramer's debut with the streaming service will be alongside Matthias Sammer during VfB Stuttgart vs. Real Madrid's match on Tuesday. Prime Video will be broadcasting one match every Tuesday, while the rest will be shown on DAZN.
"I'm thrilled to join the Prime Video expert team," shared Kramer, who ended his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach before the season started. Although he's never visited Real Madrid's home field, the iconic Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, he considers this as an opportunity to realize a "childhood dream."
Kramer is also working as a TV expert for ZDF and analyzed the Champions League final for them in June. He is currently unsure about continuing his active career with any club.
In a previous agreement, Kramer and Per Mertesacker signed a contract extension with ZDF until the summer of 2026. Both 2014 World Cup champions will continue to provide their expertise for national team games, DFB-Pokal broadcasts, and Champions League finals for the next two years with ZDF.
Kramer first appeared as an expert on ZDF during the 2018 World Cup. Since September 2020, Mertesacker has been working for Mainz-based broadcaster ZDF and is also in charge of FC Arsenal's youth academy. Last time, the duo appeared together on camera for the home European Championship in Germany.
Despite his current clubless status in soccer, Christoph Kramer is set to provide insights as a football analyst for the Champions League on Prime Video. Kramer's new role will see him debut alongside Matthias Sammer during VfB Stuttgart vs. Real Madrid's match on Tuesday.
