Chrissy Teigen, a renowned Instagram figure with over 43 million followers, enjoys showcasing her family life online. However, as a mother, she desires a different reality for her kids - free from the world of social media. With her husband John Legend, Chrissy raises four children: Luna (8 years), Miles (6 years), Esti (16 months), and Wren (11 months), adhering to strict rules regarding digital media.

One Hour of Screen Time on Weekends

During a panel discussion focusing on parenting in the digital age on June 4th, Chrissy tackled the issue of raising kids amidst the sea of digital media. She talked about her children's tablet usage with Jeffrey Katzenberg, a media manager and DreamWorks founder. According to Chrissy, a specified time for using tablets exists - "perhaps an hour on weekends."

Instagram Ban Until 18 Years Old

Concerning digital advertisements accompanying their children's YouTube viewing, Teigen voiced her concerns. She emphasized the importance of ad regulations for children, saying "if there are no more rules and regulations, I'd much rather they weren't on social media at all." She yearns for their safety and happiness, which she believes can be achieved through avoiding social media until they're adult.

A Rocky Path to Parenthood

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have been a united front since their 2013 marriage. Daughter Luna signified their union in 2016, and son Miles made an entrance in 2018. Soon after, in early 2023, Esti Maxine Stephens joined the family. Just five months later, the couple welcomed Wren into their family via surrogacy after undergoing artificial insemination. In 2020, Teigen faced a devastating loss: the death of her unborn son - Jack - during pregnancy. She later shared, "it was obvious midway through the pregnancy that he wouldn't survive, and I wouldn't either without medical intervention."

Chrissy and John Legend, both influential figures on YouTube, are raising their four children, including newborn Wren, with a strict digital media policy.

At the summit, Chrissy conveyed her concerns about digital advertisements accompanying their children's YouTube viewing, stating her preference for stringent regulations or complete avoidance of social media until her children reach adulthood. The couple has faced challenges in their parenthood journey, including the loss of their unborn son, Jack, in 2020. Even with these difficult experiences, the couple remains united, as evidenced by their adoption of three children: Luna, Miles, and their newest addition, Esti.
