Prince Harry - CEO's farewell at the Invictus Games
Prince Harry's (39) heart project, the Invictus Games, has a new CEO. Dominic Reid, who has been the CEO of the event since its inception ten years ago, is stepping down. He explained his departure on the organization's website.
It was "an honor" to work closely with Prince Harry. "His concept, passion, and energy have significantly contributed to our success", Reid emphasized.
Prince Harry thanks his "friend"
Prince Harry also released a statement praising Dominic Reid's involvement. "I am infinitely grateful to my friend Dominic, whose dedication and leadership have transformed the Invictus Games from a bold idea into a globally recognized movement", it read.
The entrepreneur had made "a decade-long, tireless effort for the Invictus Games Foundation" and the Royal was happy to have worked with him. The new CEO of the Invictus Games has not been announced yet.
Sporting event for soldiers
The Invictus Games, which were founded by Prince Harry in 2014, is a sporting event for soldiers who have suffered physical or mental injuries in service. The veterans compete in various sports such as athletics, swimming, table tennis, and wheelchair basketball. The goal of the event is to support the participants in their rehabilitation from 23 countries. The next Invictus Games will take place in February 2025 in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada.
