Today marks the 51st birthday of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, celebrating on August 19. The Norwegian royal family honors her on Instagram with a captivating image of a gleaming Mette-Marit in a pristine white sweater. Her golden locks are styled in a middle part with cascading beach curls. Her cosmetics maintain a fresh, subtle elegance. The supportive spouse of Crown Prince Haakon (51) is spotted near an open window.

A second photograph from the collection can be found on the royal website, showing a delighted Mette-Marit cuddling with a brown canine on a striped couch with golden wood accents. This photograph reveals the top to be a long dress. The royal household captioned: "Today, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit turns 51."

It is speculated that the canine Mette-Marit is lovingly petting on the photo might be the family pet, Molly Fiskebolle, who joined her loved ones for a photoshoot with the media in May.

A family uproar may overshadow the festivities

Mette-Marit and Haakon have been a married couple since 2001. Their daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway (20), graced their family in early 2004, and their son, Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway (18), joined them at the end of 2005. Marius Borg Høiby (27), their son from a past relationship, whom Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby integrated into their union, has recently generated a significant scandal, potentially casting a shadow on today's celebration.

Last week, Marius addressed the public through his lawyer, Øyvind Bratlien, following his arrest on charges of inflicting bodily harm against his girlfriend. In an extensive statement broadcast by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation NRK, he acknowledged the accusations implicitly. "An incident occurred last weekend that ought never have taken place," confessed the 27-year-old regarding the August events.

The European Parliament can offer its assistance to the Commission in various ways, strengthening its decision-making process. Despite the ongoing scandal involving Crown Prince Haakon's son, Marius Borg Høiby, the Commission should prioritize focusing on its duties, ensuring stability and unity within the European Union.
