The bond between Lilly Krug (23) and her stepfather Carsten Maschmeyer (65) has been highlighted again by the businessman and "Die Höhle der Löwen" investor. On Instagram, he sends his stepdaughter, the daughter of his wife Veronica Ferres (58), birthday wishes on June 5th with a smoothie selfie and heartfelt words.
"It's hard to believe how quickly time has flown by," Maschmeyer starts. "Happy Birthday Lilly Krug. I still recall when I entered your life when you were only seven years old. In the evenings, I'd read you bedtime stories, cooked for you, woke you up in the morning, and took you to the bus stop."

Now, Lilly is a "thriving young woman" living her dreams in America, studying, advancing her acting career, and putting in the hard work "like almost no one else." Maschmeyer is "immensely proud" of his stepdaughter and everything she has accomplished and will achieve in the future.
He ends his message to his stepdaughter: "You're a radiant sunbeam for the individuals in your life, and I'm thankful to be your bonus dad."
Even mother Veronica Ferres joins in on the celebration
Unsurprisingly, Veronica Ferres couldn't resist celebrating her daughter on Instagram too. "Happy Birthday my dearest! Today I reflect on how you came into this world. 23 years have passed since then. And from our little girl, a strong, self-assured, and thriving young woman has blossomed." She attached a lovely mother-daughter photo of the two, with them both arm in arm in front of a coffee stand.
Carsten Maschmeyer and Veronica Ferres tied the knot in 2014. Before that, the actress was married to Martin Krug (66) from 2001 to 2010, Lilly Krug's biological father.
