BVB's Worry Child Adeyemi expresses concern over DFB's celebratory behavior: It should be routine

Following his stellar performance in the U21 international games, Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi has set lofty expectations for himself. After netting five goals in victories against Estonia and Israel, the 22-year-old expressed his satisfaction, stating, "This is what I aimed for here - to contribute to the team's victories and boost my own confidence by scoring goals or assists. I've accomplished that, and I'm delighted."

Adeyemi now returns to Dortmund with renewed self-assurance, having scored twice against Israel and thrice in Tallinn. Anticipating a continuing rise in form, coach Antonio Di Salvo acknowledged, "The objective was to increase his self-confidence. Ultimately, he needs to up the ante at the club." While he's managed one assist in three club matches this season, Adeyemi fell short last season, scoring just five goals and providing two assists across 34 matches.

Before, questions arose about Adeyemi's performance following his decision to skip the U21 team in November 2023 upon not being selected by Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann. He faced criticism for this decision.

A victory over Bulgaria would secure the EM qualification

It's all water under the bridge now. Adeyemi is determined to showcase his talent in Dortmund and regain his spot in the A national team. Di Salvo expressed confidence, mentioning that he's not daunted by the prospect of Adeyemi playing for Nagelsmann rather than himself, stressing, "There's no place for worry."

With back-to-back goal-scoring sprees, the U21 team is advancing confidently towards the Euro finals scheduled in Slovakia next summer. Di Salvo praised the team's offensive aggression, expressing, "The team was eager to score goal after goal. This is just a positive sign." While the highest win in German U21 history remains the 11:0 against San Marino in 2009, the team managed an impressive 10:1 win against Estonia.

Nick Woltemade of Stuttgart and Nicolo Tresoldi of Hannover 96, besides several other players, contributed to the record-breaking scoreline, with 10 different scorers in total. Adeyemi's goals were not the only highlight, with Di Salvo acknowledging, "We can savor this win for the moment, given the goals we've scored. However, we're already focusing ahead. We aim to seal the deal against Bulgaria on October 11 in Regensburg."

A victory against Bulgaria would confirm the team's Euro qualification, while a draw against Poland, scheduled four days later, would still be sufficient. If the German team unexpectedly fails to secure the group win, they still have a promising chance of securing one of the top three runner-up spots, which also grants Euro qualification.

Adeyemi's impressive form in the U21 team, with goals against Israel and Estonia, has reignited his passion for Soccer at Dortmund. The team's victory against Estonia, a 10-1 scoreline, was a testament to their offensive aggression, with Adeyemi contributing to the tally.
