Champions League - BVB pros Sabitzer and Wolf questionable against PSG
Borussia Dortmund are still worried about the return of Marcel Sabitzer and Marius Wolf ahead of the final match for the Champions League group win against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday (21:00/DAZN).
A decision on the return to the squad of the two professional footballers, who were already absent in the 3-2 draw against Leipzig, will be made at short notice. "Marius was able to take part in the warm-up yesterday. Marcel will remain individual today. We'll make the final decisions tomorrow morning," said coach Edin Terzic.
Captain Can missing through yellow card suspension
The absence of full-back Wolf would be particularly problematic because his supposed replacement Thomas Meunier has not been registered for the Champions League and is therefore not allowed to play. However, Bundesliga defender Mats Hummels, who is suspended after his red card against Leipzig, is available. However, captain Emre Can, who is suspended for the Premier League, will have to be replaced.
With a three-point lead over second-placed Paris, a draw will be enough for BVB, who have already qualified for the round of 16, to maintain their lead at the top of the table. That would increase their chances of facing an easier opponent in the round of 16. When asked whether his team would like to take revenge for the 2-0 defeat in Paris, Terzic replied: "I think revenge is the wrong word in sport. It motivates us to win games. We're playing here in front of over 81,000 spectators, that's motivation enough."
