A well-known comedian hailing from Mannheim is making headlines recently due to his sympathy over a tragic event that occurred in his hometown. He was born there in 1976 and is actively involved in various social and political matters. A police officer's death during an alleged Islamist attack three days ago has left the comic shaken.

The incident happened on May 31st at Mannheim market square, where a 29-year-old officer was attacked by a man from Afghanistan with suspected Islamist motives. The police officer succumbed to his injuries, causing shock and despair across the country.

This incident affected Comedian Bulent Ceylan, who has a German mother and a Turkish father, deeply as well. One can see his reaction on his Instagram account where he shared a photo of himself and his friend Ali G. standing at the location of the officer's death, looking down at the sea of flowers, candles, and farewell messages on the market square.

Condemning Violence and Fanaticism

In the caption, Ceylan expresses his sadness, writing: "The mood was somber but the memories of this brave man who gave his life for our safety surrounded us. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. It's hard to fathom the pain and loss they must be experiencing."

The comedian emphasizes the importance of peace and solidarity, commenting on how fleeting peace and security can be. He strongly condemns any form of violence and fanaticism, stating: "We, as a society, should come together for peace and solidarity. Hatred, fanaticism, and violence - regardless of where they stem from - should not be tolerated among us."

Ceylan concluded his post by urging an effort towards building a society where respect and humanity take center stage. "Only then can these horrible incidents from the past be left behind." The post saw over 85,000 likes within 24 hours.

Shaken by the death of the police officer, the Mannheim-born comedian took to Instagram to share his feelings and sent his condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officer. He also urged the public to stand against violence and fanaticism in order to create a more peaceful society.
