"Brutally disappointing": Kehl served after BVB defeat
Sporting director Sebastian Kehl sharply criticized Borussia Dortmund's players after the 2-1 (1-1) defeat at VfB Stuttgart. BVB's performance four days after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Champions League was "brutally disappointing", said the 43-year-old.
"The way we performed in very, very many areas and especially in the first half, we must not perform like that," warned Kehl after the second defeat in a row in the Bundesliga. "If that happens to us more often, we won't need to talk about goals anymore."
Some players "completely below their level"
Borussia put in a "very, very weak performance", said Kehl. "Very, very many players" had "played completely below their level". BVB's sporting director praised Stuttgart's courageous and courageous performance, but noted: "The way we performed today, both as a group and individually, you can't perform like that as Borussia Dortmund."
Deniz Undav (42 minutes) and goalscorer Serhou Guirassy on his comeback from the penalty spot (83) scored for VfB. Niclas Füllkrug (36') had given Dortmund, who were disappointing for long stretches, a surprise lead. The runners-up are gradually losing sight of the top spot in the table.
Despite the disappointing performances in both the Champions League and Bundesliga matches, Sebastian Kehl's VfB Stuttgart managed to outperform Borussia Dortmund, with Deniz Undav and Serhou Guirassy scoring the winning goals. Kehl, the Borussia Dortmund sporting director, was critical of his team's performance, stating that many players were below their usual level against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
