Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has reclaimed the undisputed heavyweight championship title after defeating Tyson Fury in a thrilling fight for the most prestigious world titles. The 37-year-old's victory marks the first time since Lennox Lewis 25 years ago that a boxer has held all the significant heavyweight titles. He triumphed over Fury through points (115:112, 113:114, 114:113) in a 12-round match. "This was a fantastic chance for me, my family, and my country," Usyk said, dedicating his victory to the Ukrainian soldiers battling against Russia.

Usyk, nicknamed "the Cat," entered the ring against the 2.06-meter-tall Brit, hoping to capitalize on his speed advantage. However, the Ukrainian struggled to utilize his mobility effectively in the early rounds. Fury, known for his provocative antics, started with his trademark games, leaving Usyk unperturbed and throwing numerous body punches. The Brit utilized his immense punching power and reach to inflict damage on Usyk with his powerful right fist. His aggressive uppercuts kept Usyk under immense pressure.

Usyk regained momentum in the eighth round, causing Fury to bleed with his clever combination punches. In the ninth round, Usyk completely shifted the momentum of the fight, bringing Fury to the brink of an early defeat. Both fighters entered the ring undefeated. Usyk claimed his titles from Anthony Joshua in 2021 and defended them successfully against Whitaker in 2022. Fury had taken the WBC belt from Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 and relinquished it before returning in 2018 to win the WBC title against Deontay Wilder.

Heavyweight boxer Agit Kabayel, from Bochum, is all set to participate in his long-awaited first world championship fight. A few hours prior to the historic fight between Fury and Usyk, Kabayel defeated Cuban Frank Sanchez during the World Championship qualifying match in Riyadh. The showdown between Fury and Usyk, marred by financial disputes and Fury's injuries, was once considered a boxing extravaganza by many experts, with Lewis and Holyfield engaging in two memorable unification bouts in 1999.
