NBA - Best mark: Disgruntled Antetokounmpo throws 64 points

Greek basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo has set a personal record in the NBA with 64 points.

Antetokounmpo scored more points in his Milwaukee Bucks' 140:126 (70:63) win against the Indiana Pacers than any other Bucks player. His personal best up to that point was 55 points.

Antetokounmpo nevertheless annoyed

After the final whistle, however, Antetokounmpo was visibly annoyed as the Pacers are said to have taken the game ball he wanted to keep as a souvenir. The 29-year-old Greek then stormed towards the visitors' dressing room. There had already been a major altercation during the game. Indiana had eliminated Milwaukee in the semi-finals of the NBA tournament a week ago.

The Toronto Raptors, led by national team captain Dennis Schröder, won for the first time in four games. The Raptors defeated the Atlanta Hawks 135-128. Schröder scored 17 points and broke the 10,000-point mark in the NBA. The 30-year-old playmaker also had seven assists against his former team.

Next Knicks defeat

Isaiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks, on the other hand, suffered a defeat. Hartenstein scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds in the narrow 113:117 loss to the Utah Jazz.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs and Detroit Pistons continued their record losing streaks. San Antonio conceded its 18th defeat in a row in a 119-122 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, while Detroit lost for the 21st time in a row in a 111-129 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers. For both traditional teams, it is the longest losing streak in their club history.

Green suspended indefinitely

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors received a personal penalty. The 33-year-old forward was suspended indefinitely by the league after punching opponent Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns in the face the day before. The league emphasized that it was considering Green's history of repeated unsportsmanlike conduct. This is the 18th time Green has been ejected during a game. Just a month ago, he choked Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves during a game.

Antetokounmpo's impressive performance against the Pacers in Milwaukee was not enough to prevent their elimination in the NBA tournament, as they had been the week prior. The German-born player Isaiah Hartenstein contributed seven points and six rebounds in the New York Knicks' close loss to the Utah Jazz. Meanwhile, the Basketball team from the USA, the Milwaukee Bucks, continue to deal with setbacks, with their oldest losing streak reaching 18 games. On the other hand, Dennis Schröder, who was born in Germany but currently plays for the Toronto Raptors in Canada, helped his team secure their first win after four consecutive losses. In an unfortunate event, star player Draymond Green of the NBA's Golden State Warriors was suspended indefinitely after punching an opponent in the face. This is Green's 18th ejection in a game, and the league is considering his history of unsportsmanlike conduct.
