Pearl Jam - Berlin concerts also canceled due to illness

Great disappointment for all Pearl Jam fans: The band has cancelled their two concerts at the Berlin Waldbühne on July 2nd and 3rd. Last Saturday (June 29th), a performance in London was also cancelled due to a musician's illness. "Despite all efforts, the band has not fully recovered," the musicians announced on their Instagram account on Sunday evening (June 30th).

"We are aware of the implications of this decision. It pains us deeply that so many people have invested their time, money, and emotional energy into buying tickets and seeing the band," it continues. The cancellation was not easy for Eddie Vedder (59), Mike McCready (58), Stone Gossard (57), Jeff Ament (61), and Matt Cameron (61). No information was given on which member is ill.

Tickets will be refunded

There is no replacement date for the concerts. A rescheduling was not possible, but the artists hope to "come back to Berlin soon." Instead, the tickets will be refunded at the points of sale. "Thank you for your understanding and support, it means a lot to us," the band concluded in their statement.

The American grunge band Pearl Jam has been on their "Dark Matter World Tour" since May, which will take them to Barcelona, New York, and Sydney, among other places, until November. The two concerts at the Waldbühne were the only dates in Germany. Whether the remaining performances will take place as planned is uncertain.

Despite the cancellation, Pearl Jam expressed their hope to perform in Berlin again in the future. Fans who purchased tickets for the London concert will also receive refunds, as no replacement date has been set.
