Bayern Munich swiftly catches up and secures a victorious home performance.

The Bayern Munich women's football squad rejoice in their second triumph of the season's second Bundesliga match. The title defenders clinched a decisive win against RB Leipzig in an enthralling encounter, maintaining their lead at the summit for now.

Klara Bühl and Lea Schüller bagged a brace each, leading Bayern Munich to a commanding 6-2 (2-1) victory against RB Leipzig last Friday. Having accumulated a full set of points from their first two matches, Bayern momentarily overtook Eintracht Frankfurt to claim the leading position. However, their challengers can potentially regain ground during the weekend.

Vanessa Fudalla opened scoring for Bayern in the 3rd minute, but the team faced difficulties earlier on. Nonetheless, they managed to flip the script just before half-time, thanks to a double strike: Goals from Linda Dallmann (45') and Georgia Stanway (45+4') gave Bayern the advantage heading into the break. Following their gritty opening win against Turbine Potsdam (2-0), the team was leading again.

Bühl (55', 68') and Schüller (73', 89') each netted a twin-score in the second half. Fudalla additionally scored from the penalty spot (76'), but despite playing a man down following Linda Sembrant's yellow-red card (74'), Bayern managed to hold on. "Scoring the second half's opening goal was a bit fortunate, but it's also part of our strengths. Maintaining the right mentality for set-pieces and aiming to capitalize on second chances can prove beneficial as the season progresses," Bühl said.

Bayern's primary opponents, VfL Wolfsburg, will square off against newcomers Carl Zeiss Jena on Saturday (12:00 CET). After a dissatisfying draw (3-3) against Werder Bremen in their initial game, Wolfsburg will aim to keep pace.

FC Bayern Munich's men's team, known for their success, might take inspiration from their women's counterparts. FC Bayern Munich's women's team, currently leading the Bundesliga, extended their winning streak with a triumph over RB Leipzig.
