The basketball team from FC Bayern Munich made history by being the first to qualify for the playoff finals of the German championship. They defeated the Würzburg Baskets on Sunday with a score of 75-61 (38:33), concluding the Best-of-Five semi-final series with a 3-0 win.

The opponent in the final series will be determined between the Niners Chemnitz and Alba Berlin. Carsen Edwards from Munich expressed his happiness about their qualification, adding that regardless of who their opponents are, they're still going to the finals.

During the game, played in the sold-out tactake Arena, Würzburg faced a small setback. They needed to forfeit Isaiah Washington, who suffered an ankle injury. Despite this, they still managed to find their rhythm and put up a fight against the favorites, allowing only 12 points against Munich.

However, Bayern gradually became more efficient in the second quarter. They stepped up their game, scoring more points and dominating on both their own rim and in the offense. Meanwhile, Würzburg's energy started to decline, and they failed to make the most of their opportunities. Munich took the lead for the first time at 24:22 in the middle of the second quarter.

After the break, Munich continued to surge forward. Their efforts under the rim, especially from Ibaka, couldn't be stopped. Würzburg put up a valiant fight, but it was clear that they didn't have what it takes to win, and Bayern took control of the match in the final quarter.

"We're proud," said Würzburg's coach Sasa Filipovski, despite the loss. "We left it all out on the court. It was a great season."

Felix Hoffmann, a player from Würzburg, watched his season end in defeat. The 34-year-old was given a warm send-off by the fans, and he fought back tears as he exited the arena.
