According to honorary president Uli Hoeneß, FC Bayern Munich is on the verge of extending Thomas Müller's contract.

"It's only a matter of days or hours before it's announced," said the long-serving manager of Germany's record soccer champions on ServusTV on Monday evening. In the program "Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7", the 71-year-old added: "I think it's in the interests of the whole club that Thomas stays with us."
