Bundesliga - Augsburg to play Frankfurt despite snowfall

Despite the weather chaos in Bavaria, FC Augsburg still expects to play its Bundesliga home match against Eintracht Frankfurt this Sunday (7.30 pm/DAZN).

In a statement, Augsburg referred to the tireless efforts "in the last 24 hours by fans, staff and service providers". The club also issued instructions to stadium visitors.

They are asked to "arrive at the WWK ARENA early. It is strongly recommended - if possible - to arrive by streetcar, as parking capacity at the WWK ARENA is limited due to the amount of snow over the past few days". Fans are also asked to "exercise caution and prudence on the entire grounds of the WWK ARENA, as snow and icy conditions can still lead to the risk of slipping in some places".

The heavy snowfall the day before had led to the cancellation of the Bundesliga home match between German soccer champions FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Union Berlin. The reason was the associated safety risks.
