Audi crowns its Q8 series with two crowns

Instead of one RS model, Audi offers two versions of the Q8 in the future. An extra 40 PS are available for approximately 14,000 Euro - making this variant the strongest series-produced gasoline model in the company's history. It sets a new lap record right away.

Audi refines its Q8 series, and not once but twice: In addition to the RS model, which has been polished as part of a facelift, there is now a Performance variant with 40 extra PS and a Nordschleife record. The prices for the sport-optimized SUV Coupe start at €142,000, and the new top variant costs from €155,700.

The all-wheel drive is taken over by the well-known 4.0-liter Biturbo V8 with mild hybrid technology and at least 441 kW/600 PS. In the Performance model, 471 kW/640 PS are available, making this variant the strongest series-produced gasoline model in the company's history.

New Record for the SUV Class

To emphasize this, the Ingolstadt-based company has sent its SUV flagship to the Nürburgring, where it set a new record for the SUV class (7:36.698 minutes). In standard sprinting, the Performance model reaches 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the standard RS. Both versions have a top speed of 250 km/h, which can be increased to 280 km/h on request.

Externally, the RS models take on the gentle facelift changes of the civilian Q8, which mainly affect the grille and the lights. Inside, there are new decorations and embroidery, as well as higher-resolution screens. The technical equipment includes an adaptive air suspension with RS-specific tuning, all-wheel steering, and Matrix-LED lighting. As an option, active roll stabilization, a sport differential, and a ceramic brake system (standard on the Performance model) can be ordered. Laser light is also available as an addition for the headlights on the options list.

The RS versions round out the powertrain program for the Coupe brother of the Q7. Already since the previous fall, two six-cylinder diesels, a six-cylinder gasoline engine, and the slightly less sharp-tuned Broadside model SQ8 with eight cylinders and 373 kW/507 PS have been orderable. The price range reaches from €86,700 to €119,500.

The Audi Q8 series expansion includes an additional powerful SUV model, specifically an SUV variant of the Audi models, offering 40 extra PS. This new variant is part of the company's history, boasting the strongest series-produced gasoline model.

When examining Audi's offerings, one can find both the RS model and the SUV variant in the Audi automobile lineup. The SUV variant, with its impressive power and performance, sets new records for the SUV class.

The SUV coupé now has up to 640 hp.
