ARD needs to air a recorded Silberbauer program rather than a live one.
Despite how well the planning was - something that cannot be controlled by event organizers at open-air functions is the weather. And so, Florian Silbereisen's live slager show was literally flooded out. Luckily, the general practice the day before went off without a hitch and thus, the first was able to air it on Saturday evening at prime time.
Pouring rain in the Austrian Kitzbühel disrupted the ARD live broadcast of "Schlagerboom Open Air" with Florian Silbereisen. Rather than airing the live show on Saturday night at 8:15 pm, they broadcasted the pre-recorded rehearsal of the show.
At the start, a note was shown on television for the audience that it was a recording due to the inclement weather. "It's been pouring rain in Kitzbühel since 8:00 pm," said the entertainment chief of the responsible public broadcaster Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR), Peter Dreckmann.
"We had planned for this and recorded the entire concert for the first time on Friday evening with 6,000 spectators and spectators in the stadium under clear skies," he added. "In order to give the television audience at home a lovely night with beautiful images, we opted to transmit the recording from the previous day." As per MDR, the ARD would switch back to Kitzbühel live "if the weather improves and the technology cooperates."
In certain parts of Tyrol, officials had cautioned about thunderstorms. There was no major damage reported until Sunday morning.

Despite the success of the pre-recorded Folk music performance during the day, the planned live Storm-themed concert featuring Austrian folk musicians was also threatened. Fortunately, they managed to record the entire event under clear skies, ensuring that even if Pop music fans had to endure another recorded broadcast, they would still be entertained with beautiful visuals.
