- Anticipated TV return by September.
Luke Mockridge (35) is getting back into the TV game with his own show on his old network, Sat.1, and it's happening quite soon. As Sat.1 confirmed on a Wednesday, his new comedy quiz show, titled "What's Inside the Box?", will kick off on Thursday, September 12.
Seventeen Humorists to Crack the Code
Sat.1 had hinted at the show's format during the Screenforce Days, without disclosing specifics. Now, the network has shared more info: A total of 17 comedians will endeavor to decipher the contents of a mysterious box. They must solve puzzles created by viewers and wager their guesses based on the solution phrase. If a puzzle remains unsolved, the creator will pocket 500 euros.
Mockridge will preside over the program on his old home network, offering clues and hints to the panel. So far, ten episodes have been scheduled (airing Thursdays at 11:00 PM on Sat.1 and Joyn). Regular panelists include Meltem Kaptan (44) and Martin Klempnow (50), who will be joined by rotating guests such as Simon Gosejohann (48), Wigald Boning (57), Janine Kunze (50), Simon Pearce (43), Eko Fresh (40), and Guido Cantz (53), among others.
Luke Mockridge's Return to the Small Screen
For Luke Mockridge, hosting "What's Inside the Box?" signals a return to TV hosting after almost three years. His former partner lodged serious accusations against him in September 2021, which he denied. The Cologne prosecutor's office dismissed the case, but Mockridge largely avoided the public eye afterwards. Despite this, he started touring again in 2022, but mainly avoided TV appearances.
Before this, the comedian had been a regular fixture on Sat.1 for years, hosting shows like "Luke! The Week and I!" from 2015 to 2017, as well as "Luke! The School and I" from 2017 to 2021, and numerous other shows.
The premiere date for Luke Mockridge's new comedy quiz show, "What's Inside the Box?", is set for Thursday, September 12. This information was confirmed by Sat.1 on a Wednesday.
In preparation for the show, a total of 17 comedians will attempt to solve puzzles created by viewers and guess the contents of a mysterious box, with potential winnings of 500 euros for unsolved puzzles.
