Investigative series titled "Everything That Matters" - André Dietz returns following a four-year absence
Andre Dietz (49) steps back in front of the RTL series "Everything Counts" camera, precisely four years after his last filming day in 2020. On September 10, 2024, the channel announced his return, with plans for him to return to TV just before Christmas.
The daily soap celebrated its 18th anniversary, and during the special week, Amrei Haardt (35) returned from her maternity leave. Now, Dietz is back as physiotherapist Ingo Zadek, a role he had played since the series debuted before his break. The actor feels right at home returning to familiar terrain: "The first visits felt like returning from a school exchange. You're away, but the family is still there," Dietz mentions in the press release.
Break gave him more time with family
Dietz voluntarily left "Everything Counts" in 2020. "Without my departure, our family would have been overwhelmed by both the Corona pandemic and my daughter's major sleep issues from January 2022 to spring 2024," he admits. He's grateful for the time away, as he was able to spend an incredible amount of time with his wife and kids during those years. Dietz and his author wife Shari tied the knot in 2011 and have four children—three daughters and a son. Their daughter Mari has a rare condition called Angelman syndrome, about which they've written books and spoken in TV interviews. In 2024, the couple also appeared in the VOX series "This is Germany."
Dietz is currently back on set, filming for "Everything Counts" once again. He hints at Ingo's future drama: "Ingo will always be Ingo. Has he matured since then? I'm not sure yet, but he's about to face some unprecedented challenges." Ingo donned cowboy boots for 14 years and survived five shifts in fashion trends, never losing his childlike heart. "You can remove Ingo from the pot, but not the pot from Ingo," Dietz jokes. Zadek left Essen to visit his daughter Zoe, who passed away in Africa. Now, he's back, eager to inspire the Steinkamps for an exciting new project and realizes his hometown means more to him than he thought.
Dietz was last seen on "Everything Counts" in November 2020. His return is set to air starting December 20, 2024 (episode 4601). The daily soap airs every weekday at 7:05 PM on RTL and is also available on RTL+.
