The 2024 European Championship - "All of them are German. They're all our sons": Scholz, Söder, and their colleagues take the oath for the European Championships.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is anticipating a vibrant and varied UEFA European Championship in Germany. As the deputy government spokesperson, Wolfgang Büchner shares, Olaf Scholz is thrilled about a multicolored ocean of flags. The more colorful, the better, according to him.

Germany is part of Europe, and he warmly welcomes all football enthusiasts. He also hopes for a sense of unity among all, Büchner added on Friday in Berlin.

Olaf Scholz is also an ardent supporter of the German team and their national coach, Julian Nagelsmann, for the opening match against Scotland. The Chancellor awaits a promising start for Germany as well. Scholz plans to attend the stadium for the last group match of the DFB team against Switzerland on June 23 in Frankfurt am Main, Büchner confirmed.

The federal government anticipates a football celebration and joyful weeks for the citizens, who will rally behind the German team - at the stadium, in fan zones, at home, with loved ones, or in their favorite local pub.

Social Media Presence for the Football-EM

In line with this enthusiasm, Chancellor Olaf Scholz posted a compilation of German footballers on Instagram and expressed his thoughts as, "They're all Germans. They're all ours."

In the same spirit, Bavaria's Minister-President, Markus Söder, shared a video clip on Instagram depicting black-red-gold fan paraphernalia, and wrote in the Bavarian dialect, "Today's our turn. And today, we'll win. Germany beats Scotland. And for a great UEFA Championship."

Even NRW Minister-President, Hendrik Wüst, has already uploaded a video clip featuring the EM mascot "Albert" and himself on Instagram. In this clip, Wüst enquires, "Who do you think will win the cup?"
