In the French Open's semi-finals, tennis enthusiasts are in for a treat: Wimbledon champion Alcaraz ousts the mistake-ridden Tsitsipas in three quick sets, setting him up against the impending world number one.

Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz is off to the semi-finals of the French Open, clashing against future world champion Jannik Sinner in a showdown for young talent. The exceptional 21-year-old sealed his place in the final four on Court Philippe Chatrier with a well-earned win against the fumbling Greek, Stefanos Tsitsipas: 6:3, 7:6 (7:3), 6:4. This triumph marks Alcaraz's 50th Grand Slam victory and his fifth semi-final appearance in a significant championship.

Beforehand, Sinner landed a 6:2, 6:4, 7:6 (7:3) triumph over the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, and was informed he'd top the rankings after the tournament. With his achievement, Sinner would be the first Italian to hold the position. Djokovic had to depart the tournament due to a medial meniscus tear in his right knee.

On Friday, the clash between Sinner and Alcaraz—a contest of youth—will mark the youngest semi-final at a Grand Slam competition since Murray and Nadal faced off at the 2008 US Open. In their semi-final match, Zverev duels de Minaur, each one vying for the final remaining spot.

Tsitsipas still plans to contend in the doubles with his brother Petros on Wednesday. Their match against the Frenchmen Manuel Guinard and Gregoire Jacq is slated for the afternoon. Earlier, Tsitsipas pulled out of the mixed doubles competition with his girlfriend, Spanish compatriot Paula Badosa, to prioritize his singles endeavors.
