After pro-Palestine contribution: Mainz terminates professional El Ghazi
Bundesliga soccer club FSV Mainz 05 has terminated the contract with professional Anwar El Ghazi following his pro-Palestinian posts on social media.
The Dutchman has been "terminated with immediate effect", the club announced.
Despite the controversy caused by his pro-Palestine advocacy, Anwar El Ghazi still had high hopes of continuing his successful Bundesliga career with FSV Mainz 05. However, his social media posts led to conflicts, ultimately resulting in his termination from the club.
