- Affirmation of Reunion Hammer's Validity
The grapevine has been buzzing, but now it's been made clear: Legendary band Oasis is on the brink of a massive comeback. Liam Gallagher (51) and Noel Gallagher (57) have shared a clip on X that features fragments of Oasis performances, including their iconic track "Wonderwall". They've also unveiled new tour dates for their disbanded group, which last called it quits in 2009.
According to their website: "Oasis have finally put an end to years of speculation and confirmed the much-anticipated concerts in the UK and Ireland, marking the home leg of their 'OASIS LIVE '25' world tour." Oasis will set the stage in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin during the summer of 2025. "Given that these will be their only European performances next year, this will be one of the most monumental live events of the decade," it's explained. However, it's also been planned that Oasis will grace stages on other continents outside of Europe throughout 2025.
Performance at London's Wembley Stadium
In a statement, the band says: "The guns have fallen silent... The long wait is over. Come and witness it yourself. It won't be aired on TV." Oasis will be playing at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4 and 5. After that, they'll move on to Manchester's Heaton Park on July 11, 12, 19, and 20, and London's Wembley Stadium on July 25 and 26, and August 2 and 3. Following that, they'll set up in Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium on August 8 and 9, and Dublin's Croke Park on August 16 and 17.
"Tickets for the UK dates will go on sale this Saturday, August 31 at 9 AM local time via ticketmaster.co.uk, gigsandtours.com, and seetickets.com," the website declares. "Tickets for Dublin will be available from 8 AM the same day at ticketmaster.ie."
The whispers were persisting
Following a rift between the Gallagher brothers, Oasis parted ways in 2009. Ever since, there have been persistent rumors hovering about a possible return of the '90s cult band. Most recently, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher sparked the rumor mill: After his headlining performance at the Reading Festival on August 25, 2024, an enigmatic date popped up on the screens behind the singer, as reported by the UK music magazine "NME".
On August 27, 2024, at 8 AM British time, fans of the '90s cult band could anticipate more details. Gallagher announced this date shortly after his performance on X, as did his brother and Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, as well as the official band account.
