Adrian Newey, the Chief Technical Officer and renowned engineer at Red Bull's Formula One team, is set to depart in 2025.

Adrian Newey, considered the best designer in Formula 1 history, joined Red Bull in 2006 and has designed championship-winning cars that have snagged seven Drivers' and six Constructors' titles, resulting in a total of 118 wins and 101 pole positions, including the STR 2008 pole and victory. Before Red Bull, the 65-year-old enjoyed successful stints at Williams and McLaren.

Newey acknowledged in a statement released by Red Bull that it's been a privilege to play a crucial part in Red Bull's transformation from a newcomer in the sport to a multiple championship-winning team. But now, feeling it's the right time to pass on the baton to others and to find new opportunities for himself. He's currently occupied with Red Bull's first hypercar, the long-awaited RB17, and is committed to investing the remaining time in that project.

Christian Horner, Team Principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing, honored Newey's significant contribution which led to their team becoming a champion in 20 seasons, winning 13 titles.

"Every key moment from the last 20 years has been possible because of Adrian's influence on the technical front," Horner said.

"His unique ability to create out of the box and bring wider inspiration to the design of F1 cars, his remarkable talent for adjusting to new rules and finding the most advantageous aspects of them, and his never-ending drive to win have contributed to Red Bull Racing's growth beyond what Mateschitz would've envisioned," he added.

Off the track, Max Verstappen has reigned victorious in three consecutive World Championships starting from 2021, most recently winning an astonishing 19 of 22 races, a feat that's never before been achieved in the sport. The momentum continued this season, with him taking victory in every race except for the Australian Grand Prix when, due to a rare mechanical failure, he was forced to retire.

But Red Bull's season has faced a spate of negative attention due to the external investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct by Horner. In February, Red Bull commissioned an independent investigation following accusations that Horner had engaged in inappropriate behavior towards a female member of the racing team, something he has vehemently denied. He was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing, as announced by the parent company of the Formula One team, Red Bull GMBH.

Rumors in March indicated that Red Bull had suspended the female employee who had raised the accusations against Horner.

Prominent team principals, including Toto Wolff of Mercedes, have been pushing for more transparency surrounding the investigation into Horner.
