Summer festival season - Abundant sunshine at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park events

Experience a three-day bonanza of deafening music, a festive vibe, and even sunshine! The famous Rock am Ring and Rock im Park music festivals have commenced. Both events have approximately 70 live performances from renowned bands across three stages - at the Nürburgring in the Eifel region and the former NS Reichsparteitagsgelände close to the 1. FC Nuremberg stadium.

Day one witnessed the Canadian rock warriors Billy Talent and the American punk-rock icons Green Day rocking the Nuremberg crowd in the evening. While in the Eifel, the festivities continued with the Chemnitz rockers Kraftklub and the Italian glam rock band Måneskin, the Eurovision Song Contest winners from 2021, serenading the crowd on Saturday. Die Ärzte, a popular punk rock band, will conclude the event on Sunday.

In Nuremberg's twin festival, Die Ärzte are set to entertain the audience on Friday evening, followed by Billy Talent and Green Day on Saturday and Kraftklub and Måneskin on Sunday. The main stage was buzzing with excitement during the afternoon performance of the German rock act Guano Apes, as throngs of fans eagerly awaited the main acts.

An early start

Many attendees had arrived on Thursday to erect their tents on the premises, armed with beer cans, blaring loud music boxes, and whimsical headgear, preparing for an unforgettable weekend.

Fantastic weather ahead

As the headgear could come in handy during the event, the weather forecast reveals a bright outlook. The German Weather Service predicts partly sunny skies, sporadic clouds, and a sunny high of 25 degrees in Nuremberg. Similarly, mostly sunny weather with the same temperatures is predicted in the Eifel region.

These two open-air festivals are among Germany's biggest music extravaganzas. Last year, both events attracted around 70,000 enthusiastic attendees to the Rock im Park site in Nuremberg and Rock am Ring at the Nürburgring in the Eifel.
