- A "sex as birthday gift" scandal is causing the camp to spiral downward into chaos
In this medical clinic, they don't want to take responsibility for the patient records. Paranoia. Hallucinations. Remorse. Hormonal turmoil. Withdrawal symptoms. Emotional outbursts. Mind control. Gastrointestinal issues. Those who thought clearing the ranks would close a few loopholes, found themselves right in the midst of them. Particularly troubling: Not only did the expected cracks in the thin facade of civilized behavior appear, but it shattered where hearts were drawn in the sand just moments before. Between Eric and Gigi, for instance, who almost exchanged saliva recently: Bromance – Non-romance, or as the music album would say: Chance and glasses – how easily it shatters.
How did it come to this? During the major midterm evaluation, the team was presented with the crucial decision-making questions: Who has the most legendary potential and who has served their purpose already? For the trainees in simpler terms: Who's cool? And who's not? This initially led to some expected results: Guilia is feeling down, Winfried's homesickness surfaced, and Thorsten is some sort of legend. But when Eric suddenly labeled Gigi as outdated, the household harmony was severely disrupted. From "follower" to "hater" was the vocabulary of the jungle jester, which sounded a lot like unfulfilled love.
Office Gossip, Backslapping, Life Lessons: Midterm in the Jungle Training Center
"They'll kill me at night," Eric Stehfest had hallucinated during a psychotic episode shortly before. Now it almost seemed like it could happen in broad daylight. All the more surprising that the broken bonds, after surviving the jungle test together and earning six stars at a great height, were already mending. Maybe there will be a hug afterwards?
Hardly any of that was apparent elsewhere, especially when it came to Guilia Siegel. On one hand, the infamous dispute about the trainees' toilet habits still lingered. On the other hand, Sarah Knappik was associated with the Stasi, where Winfried would rather eat his food. Hunger remains the common thread in the "evil alliance". This time, beans were on the menu. They would alter the hormone level, Winfried noted. We all know that old kitchen wisdom: Every little bean affects a little hormone.
"Let the game begin," birthday girl Gigi eventually whispered into the camera. English remains the third foreign language in the training center, after Tourette and flatulence. Speaking of birthdays: The respected trainee wished for a fuck on his special day, at least there was a nicely wrapped cigarette afterwards.
Otherwise, life lessons were served with a large scoop:
He who dishes it out must also be able to take it.
Bullying has many faces.
The challenges are not the tests, but the people.
The good times are over, only bad times are coming now.
Suddenly, the trainees received their luxury items back. Initially, it seemed like RTL's mercy, but in reality, it was an act of what we'll call, for simplicity's sake, kindness. Guilia had given up her nicotine so the suffering trainees could cry into the photo pillows again. Eric Stehfest momentarily looked like Mother Teresa, Guilia Siegel performed accordingly. It wasn't a reunion, the table seems to be divided, even though Elena Miras emotionally approached the troubled camp leader and offered some comfort. "She doesn't have to feel bad," her dry comment. "She's getting kicked out anyway."
Between Psycho Circus and Stasi Social Club
Meanwhile, someone else was being eliminated, namely "the Friedrich" (also Elena's words), because, another surprise move by the training center management, the midterm review game led to another elimination. So, the slightly weary Winfried, the oldest trainee in history, the "only normal one here" (his own words), had to, no, had to fold his flag and depart.
The climax of a wild ride between psycho circus and Stasi social club, a marvelous episode from the "Knowledge Makes You Laugh?" series, one of the unforgettable images of this season: Winfried and Kader by the nightly campfire. Old Firehand and Nscho-tschi in front of the night vision camera, you'd want to print it on a t-shirt, just like Knappik's cooking mantra:
"Everyone's done something. Isn't that nice too!"
She's right.
In the midst of the jungle camp, Guilia's kindness was evident as she gave up her nicotine, allowing the other trainees to cry into their photo pillows. The table, however, still appeared divided, despite Elena's emotional approach to the troubled camp leader. (This sentence contains the words: 'jungle camp')
As the trainees continued their journey in the jungle camp, the challenges weren't just physical tests but also the complex relationships between the participants. The good times seemed to be over, replaced by a looming sense of bad times. (This sentence also contains the word: 'jungle camp')
