A raccoon is pursued by staff using trash cans during a pitch in a soccer game.
The energetic mammal scampered across the field at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, expertly eluding capture as workers chased it using a bin.
A humorous commentator remarked, "We need to provide him with a ball because he's performing quite well in the center of the pitch," describing the scene as "unusual entertainment."
Play was stopped for five minutes while the team managed to catch the creature, which was later nicknamed "Raquinha the Raccoon" by MLS.
The Union shared an update, informing fans that the raccoon was "in capable hands" and had been securely released.
"Officially, Raquinho the Raccoon spent 2 minutes and 41 seconds on the field tonight, the most ever by a raccoon in the history of @MLS," the league's social media account stated.
NYCFC emerged victorious with a 2-1 score, thanks to a goal by Alonso Martínez in the first minute and a Hannes Wolf free-kick in the last moments of the first half.
