King Felipe VI (56) and Queen Letizia of Spain (51) attended the annual meetup with members of the "Princess of Asturias" Foundation at the El Pardo Palace in Madrid. Their photos from the event show them looking serious but also smiling and showing affection towards each other, laying rest to the ongoing speculations of a marital crisis.
Charming Appearance of the Royal Duo
In addition to putting the rumors to rest, the pair also made a visually striking appearance. Queen Letizia wore a figure-hugging wine-red tweed jacket featuring black-white checkerboard details and a knee-length black skirt. She completed her outfit with black flat leather shoes, not bothering to use them to bridge the height difference between them. Her waist-length brunette locks were styled in a relaxed side parting, while her pearl earrings glimmered subtly.
Standing tall at 1.97 meters, King Felipe looked dapper in a smart gray suit with a light blue shirt and a horizontal blue-gray striped tie.
Upcoming 20th Wedding Anniversary
The Spanish heir apparent, formerly known as Felipe de Borbón, and former television journalist Letizia Ortiz tied the knot on May 22, 2004, in Madrid. They are the proud parents of Crown Princess Leonor (18) and Princess Sofia (17). In 2014, on June 19th, Felipe took over the Spanish throne, elevating Letizia to the title of Queen.
