The actor additionally visited the site of the Supernova Festival, where 364 people lost their lives.
Douglas meets with Israeli President
While in Kibbutz Be'eri, Douglas remarked, "This is a challenging time. The devastation here truly reflects the profound impact of these events." He assured that as America's ally, the United States is there to support Israel.
The actor witnessed the damage to homes where approximately 100 individuals were killed and 30 were taken prisoner. Douglas expressed his hope that the hostages would be freed soon. At a meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog (63), Douglas received a yellow ribbon pin for the hostages in Gaza and a necklace inscribed with "Our hearts are trapped in Gaza."
Douglas is following a growing number of other American celebrities who have recently visited Israel. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld (70) called his excursion "the most powerful experience of my life."
