Following an assassination attempt, medical professionals are battling to save the life of Slovakian Prime Minister Fico. Meanwhile, President Zelensky of nearby Ukraine cautions against permitting violence to become the standard.

On social network X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vehemently denounced the assault on Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico. "Every measure must be taken to prevent violence from becoming the norm in any nation, in any setting or sphere," Zelensky stated on Wednesday. Ukraine expresses its solidarity with Slovakia and hopes for Fico's swift recuperation.

Fico had previously endured a shooting at a cabinet meeting in Handlova, which critically wounded him. He was rushed to the hospital. The assailant was reportedly detained.
