Model, presenter, and fashion expert Rebecca Mir (32) sets trends faster than anyone else in fashion matters. The 32-year-old regularly sets fashion trends both in front of the camera and on the red carpet. She also keeps her nearly one million Instagram followers updated on the latest fashion trends. Which must-have items can't be missing from anyone's wardrobe and who her major fashion icons are, she reveals in an interview about her new role as brand ambassador for Perwoll.

You are a true fashion icon. Where do you find inspirations for your style?

Rebecca Mir: My absolute style icons are my grandmother. She had an amazing taste and used to sew her own clothes, so to speak, her matching sets with blazers and skirts or pants.

Which prominent style do you admire particularly?

Mir: Naomi Campbell's style. I'm sure she has many beautiful pieces from designers. I would love to swap wardrobes with her once.

Is there a particular clothing item or accessory that you couldn't live without?

Mir: Shoes. Beautiful shoes.

Mir: My favorite trend right now is actually denim on denim, meaning a denim skirt with a cool denim shirt or denim blouse. I wear that a lot privately and really enjoy it. Whether at the playground, on a walk, or even while traveling.

Mir: Red highlight pieces make every outfit a real eye-catcher. But monochromatic looks in different shades and with various fabrics are also a real statement look that should not be missing from any wardrobe this year.

How important is sustainability in fashion for you personally, and how do you try to incorporate it into your decisions?

Mir: Sustainability is an important topic for me, but I don't necessarily buy according to trend, but rather what I like. It doesn't have to be from the current season, it can also be from a vintage store. Fashion comes back: Pieces that are ten years old are fashionable again. And of course, care is also an important factor, which is why I also took on the role of brand ambassador for Perwoll.

What advice do you give women who struggle with fashion questions and haven't found their own style yet?

Mir: I have set myself the following rules: If you already have this clothing item in your wardrobe or something similar, then you don't need it. If you feel good in the clothing, then you should wear it. If at least three looks come to mind with which you can combine your It-piece, then it gets a clear "Go" for purchasing.

Has your personal style changed since becoming a mom?

Mir: I don't think so. I care a lot privately about it being casual, it has to be practical but still cool. I discovered the "Mom-jeans" as a mother.

Do you discuss your outfits with your husband Massimo before joint appearances?

Mir: Mostly it runs with us that I first choose what I will wear, and he adjusts himself to that. In terms of style or also color-wise, it should match. He loves fashion just as much as I do!

Does your son also have his own will when it comes to fashion?

Mir: When we travel, it feels like half to three-quarters of my son's luggage is taken up. He decides what he wants to take and what not. So yes, the fashion sense is definitely there.

Rebecca Mir shares her fashion inspirations from her grandmother and Naomi Campbell on Instagram. She admires Naomi Campbell's style and would love to swap wardrobes with her. Shoes are a must-have item for Rebecca, and her current favorite trend is denim on denim. She advises women to buy clothes they like and feel good in, and her son also has a strong fashion sense.
