Vice-President Kamala Harris - Your autobiography will be a bestseller

Not only in the initial survey values can democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris (59) rejoice in a boom. Five years after the first publication of her autobiography "The Truths We Hold: An American Journey," the book ranks number one, according to the US site "People," on several bestseller lists in the US. The reason for this is clear: With Joe Biden (81) stepping down from the race, Harris is seen as the designated successor in the race for the White House - and thus attracts increased interest.

Online retailer Amazon has seen Harris' book climb to the top spot in the "Biographies of Politicians" category in the US - it is also currently the best-selling memoirs by a woman. The "New York Times" was already a bestseller at the time of publication in 2019, before she took office as Vice President under Joe Biden.

And her 2009 book "Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor's Plan to Make Us Safer" is currently topping the charts - in this case in the Criminology section.

Harris is not yet the official challenger of the Republican candidate Donald Trump (78), but a nomination is considered all but assured. Biden had already signaled his support for Harris as his successor in his first address to the nation after his resignation letter, and confirmed it by stating, "She is experienced, tough, and capable. She was an incredible partner for me and a leader for our country. Now the decision is yours, the American people."

At the beginning of the week, CNN had also reported that Harris had more than the required number of delegates to secure her nomination as a presidential candidate.

  1. In the wake of Joe Biden's stepdown from the race, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris's autobiography, "The Truths We Hold: An American Journey," has risen to the number one spot on the US site "People"'s Toplist of bestsellers in several categories.
  2. After Joe Biden's resignation, Vice-President Kamala Harris has become the frontrunner in the race for the White House, which has resulted in increased interest in her books, such as "The Truths We Hold: An American Journey," which currently ranks number one in the "Biographies of Politicians" category on Amazon's US site.
  3. Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, has not yet officially named his challenger, but the nomination for Kamala Harris is widely expected due to her strong performance and Joe Biden's support.
  4. According to CNN's reports, Kamala Harris has surpassed the required number of delegates, which is a significant step towards securing her nomination as a presidential candidate.
  5. Kamala Harris's past book, "Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor's Plan to Make Us Safer," is also experiencing a surge in popularity, currently topping the charts in the Criminology section of several online bookstores, including Amazon.
