Cher - Women should date younger men
Pop icon Cher (77) has a piece of advice for all women in the world: "Date a younger man." Every woman should have had this experience at least once in her life, said the singer in an episode of the YouTube show "Chicken Shop Date" published on Friday. The Grammy winner herself has only had positive experiences with younger partners, but older men "just don't like her".
Cher is currently in a relationship with music manager Alexander Edwards (37), who is around 40 years her junior. Cher reports that she has broken her own rules. She had long harbored the feeling that she shouldn't be with younger men. This was another reason why she fell in love with Edwards "not at all quickly". Although she resisted it at first, the feelings developed as a result of their many chats.

"I was in Switzerland and he wrote to me: 'Where are you going? I said: 'I'm going to Switzerland. I'm a bit tired', and then he wrote to me: 'Well, get some rest, babyyy', with three ypsilons," Cher says about the getting-to-know-you phase. At that moment, she thought to herself that he didn't actually know her well enough to communicate with her like that: "I was pretty angry." She also resisted love afterwards and told her friends: "Don't fall in love with a younger man, we're too old. And don't fall in love by text message."
The singer and the music manager met at Paris Fashion Week in 2022 after an acquaintance gave Edwards her number. After a few months of a secret relationship, they made their love public in the fall of 2022. After an alleged break-up in May 2023, the two appeared together in public again from September.
