US-Rapper Wiz Khalifa, according to his own statements, was reportedly arrested in Romania after a concert - apparently also because he smoked a joint on stage. "They were very respectful and let me go. I will be back soon. But the next time without a big joint", wrote the 36-year-old in a post on X. "The show last night was fantastic. I didn't want to disrespect the country Romania", wrote Khalifa further. The rapper reportedly performed at a festival on a Saturday.

Multiple media outlets reported that the musician was arrested. Videos circulating on social media showed Khalifa smoking on stage and being taken away.

The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism of the country announced that an investigation was being conducted against an American citizen for the unlawful possession of risky drugs. It was confirmed that the accused had possessed more than 18 grams of Cannabis during a concert at the resort Costinescu and had consumed another amount of Cannabis in the form of a self-rolled cigarette on stage.

Wiz Khalifa, a renowned US-Rapper, expressed gratitude towards the Romanian authorities after his arrest, suggesting a respectful encounter. "Despite the incident, I will return soon, assuring a joint-free performance next time," he wrote on social media. The arrest occurred following his performance at a festival in Berlin, Germany, on a Saturday, but it was reportedly in Romania where the incident took place.

Media outlets in the United States of America widely reported the incident, with videos of Khalifa smoking on stage and being escorted away circulating on social media. Amidst these reports, the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) of Romania confirmed an investigation against an American citizen for unlawful possession of risky drugs. The accused, identified as Khalifa, was found to have carried over 18 grams of Cannabis, as well as consuming another amount during his performance, in the form of a self-rolled cigarette.

While the rapper faced legal consequences in Romania, his fans in Berlin were gearing up for a weekend of music and festivities. Little did they know, the previous day's concert in Romania would cast a shadow over their anticipation. In the aftermath, discussions regarding criminality in music performances and drug policies across various countries began to surface in public discourse.
