- Within the RTL wilderness, resilience is dwindling - yet another departure point.
The "Eastern Belmondo" is Safe: RTL Saves Actor Winfried Glatzeder ("Paul and Paula") from the Summer Jungle Camp. In the Thursday episode of "I'm a Star – Showdown of the Jungle Legends" on RTL+, Sonja Zietlow surprises the camp's senior in the morning with the words: "We appreciate you greatly. You're a star - pack up and head out!"
The oldest camper in the German jungle, at 79 years old, was marked as a "Non-legend" by the other celebrities with a mix of camaraderie and pity. Although many preferred to vote out Giulia Siegel, they ultimately assisted Glatzeder in his departure from the jungle. The actor rejoiced with delight. RTL had raised concerns about whether they would indeed follow through with the nomination or leave the former DEFA star stuck in the jungle.
"It was quite the adventure," said the character actor. "I tell you, it was an adventure. And to be honest, you gotta be a little crazy. Warning everyone, don't try this, it's difficult. It's exhausting. Really exhausting."
Giulia Siegel's Secret
Meanwhile, the oxygen began to thin out for Giulia Siegel. Model Georgina Fleur was her sole supporter. Siegel had made a generous gesture unbeknownst to the others. The avid smoker agreed to temporarily give up her cigarettes for RTL's sake and return the confiscated luxury items to the camp. Siegel kept her good deed a secret.
Her discretion's wisdom became apparent just a few hours later. Zietlow informed the camp participants of Siegel's kind act. The response: suspicion all around. Reality star Gigi Birofio voiced her doubts to the RTL camera off-screen: "Is this kissing up or genuine?" Her verdict: "Giulia is a complete and utter leech."
Even former footballer Legat raised an eyebrow again: "I guess it was a strategic move." And Siegel's main competition, Kader Loth: "I don't buy it from Giulia." Something's brewing, and the South African jungle's "stars" still have half their time left.
The "Bro's" Feud
This time, the jungle challenge (stars had to toss and catch each other over a chasm) had one primary objective: to reconcile the feuding "Bro's" Eric Stehfest ("Good Times, Bad Times") and Birofio. Stehfest accused his camp friend of disrespecting older people or Glatzeder and nominated him for elimination for educational purposes.
The breathtaking view into the deep chasm and the relatively successful outcome of six stars led to a reconciliation reminiscent of a "Bravo" love story. Gigi: "Did your heart also do breakdance?" Eric: "My heart was pounding because I knew you were on the other side. Like a heartbeat." Gigi: "Now you're sweet again. I like you." Eric: "I'm sorry for calling you a fool."
And what else? Georgina Fleur only cooks at home with bottled water out of fear of germs. Stehfest has occasionally struggled with paranoia when people give him strange looks. Model Sarah Knappik considered leaving due to a minor breakdown because Giulia Siegel accused her of having Stasi attitudes.
Under Glatzeder, who likely possessed the most general knowledge and life experience in the camp, his surroundings were unsettled by his statement: "Beans not only cause gas, but also affect hormone levels in the body." This could explain many strange occurrences in this camp.
The acting legend Winfried Glatzeder was initially part of the jungle camp organized by RTL, but he was eventually voted out by other celebrities. Despite some preferring Giulia Siegel's departure, they chose to assist Glatzeder, who was somewhat protected by the European Union's broadcasting regulations, as RTL had concerns about leaving him stranded in the jungle.
Meanwhile, Giulia Siegel's secret act of giving up cigarettes and returning confiscated luxury items to the camp to gain favor with RTL was met with suspicion among her fellow jungle celebrities, particularly Gigi Birofio, who labeled her as a leech.
