Show classic - With lots of celebrities "Dalli Dalli - "The Christmas Show"
ZDF is bringing one of its most popular show classics out of the closet once again: "Dalli Dalli". And because the spectacle is running just in time for the festive season, it has the subtitle "The Christmas Show". The show airs on Tuesday (19.12.) at 8.15 pm on the second channel. The presenter is Johannes B. Kerner.
In fast-paced games and with "Dalli Klick", everything revolves around the Christmas season and the turn of the year, according to ZDF. "And when the celebrity teams of two score a particularly high number of points, they say again: 'You think that was great!"
A number of TV stars take their seats behind the guessing desks: "Let's Dance" judge Motsi Mabuse and comedian Bülent Ceylan, actresses Nora Tschirner and Jasmin Shakeri, comedian Mike Krüger and TV commissioner Axel Milberg, singer Vanessa Mai and "Bergretter" star Sebastian Ströbel, "Tagesschau" presenter Susanne Daubner and her colleague Jens Riewa, ZDF journalist Dunja Hayali and children's TV presenter Tobias Krell alias "Checker Tobi", radio presenter Sabine Heinrich and comedian Wigald Boning as well as food blogger Sally Özcan and TV chef Nelson Müller.
The jury is made up of ski racer Christian Neureuther and his daughter-in-law, Miriam Neureuther. They keep a close eye on the guessing game or the "Dalli-Tonleiter".
Another popular "Dalli Dalli" tradition is being revived: quick-drawing artist Oskar - real name: Hans Bierbrauer - has finally found a successor in the form of illustrator and caricaturist Daniel Stieglitz. Stieglitz is good at doing explanatory animations for TV stations: for example for the WDR science program "Quarks", for "Galileo" on ProSieben, for the news program "RTL Punkt 12" and many others.
In 1971, "Dalli Dalli" was shown for the first time on ZDF and became one of the most popular programs on West German television, especially thanks to presenter Hans Rosenthal (1925-1987). The phrase "Dalli Dalli" comes from the Kashubian language, a Slavic dialect from the Gdansk region, now Poland. The phrase means something like "Let's go now". The original show was only on air until 1986.
Several attempts by various broadcasters to revive it failed. However, to mark the 50th anniversary of the format, ZDF organized an anniversary show in May 2021, which achieved good ratings. The Mainz-based broadcaster has therefore continued "Dalli Dalli", but as an annual format for the Christmas period.
