Harvey Weinstein - With an 'Unzahl' of diseases in the hospital

Harvey Weinstein (72) was admitted to a hospital. The incarcerated film producer was transferred to a ward of the Bellevue Hospital in New York City, according to "NBC News" citing Weinstein's spokesperson Craig Rothfeld.

In the Hospital with Acute and Chronic Health Issues

The fallen film magnate is being treated in the hospital, according to his representative, for "an assortment of health issues." Among them are various chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, spinal stenosis, as well as fluid in the heart and lungs.

Additionally, he has a coronavirus infection and double pneumonia. Both lungs are affected. A bilateral pneumonia often occurs alongside an infectious disease like Corona.

Harvey Weinstein has not been in this hospital for the first time this year. In April 2024, he was admitted for tests. At the time, his attorney Arthur Aidala told "TMZ" that Weinstein's health was "a disaster."

Weakened in Court for Decision on Retrial

Harvey Weinstein appeared notably weakened in court in July of this year. He arrived in a wheelchair and had visibly lost weight. At that time, it was determined that Weinstein's trial, against the former star producer, would be rerolled in November 2024.

Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison by a New York court in 2020 for rape and sexual assault. However, in April 2023, the highest court in New York State overturned the judgment. The reason: The judge had allowed testimony from women who were not victims of the indictment but had negative things to say about Weinstein. These statements could have influenced the jury.

Despite the reversal of the judgment by the highest court, Weinstein remains in custody. This is because he was sentenced to 16 years in prison in Los Angeles for sexual offenses in early 2023. Weinstein's attorneys plan to review this judgment as well.

Harvey Weinstein's health issues, including his Coronavirus infection and lung inflammation, were discussed in court, leading to his appearance in a wheelchair and noticeable weight loss. Despite being released from prison in New York due to a judgment reversal, he remains incarcerated in Los Angeles, serving a 16-year sentence for sexual offenses. The NBC News reported about his latest hospital admission to Bellevue Hospital in New York City, known for treating high-profile patients.
