Céline Dion - Will she return to the stage soon?
New rumors about singer Céline Dion (56), who is suffering from Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS): The "US Sun" speculates that the artist is preparing for a live music comeback in Las Vegas. The 56-year-old is reportedly rehearsing secretly for a limited series of 70-minute shows, with which she is supposed to return to the stage in the fall after a four-year break from performing. If her health issues prevent the comeback, it could allegedly be postponed to next year.
Since her SPS diagnosis, a rare neurologic condition, in 2022, Céline Dion has largely withdrawn from public life. After a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards 2024, she came back in June to present her Amazon documentary "I Am: Celine Dion."
In her doc, Céline Dion gives raw insights
The film aims to give an "unfiltered and honest look behind the scenes of the legendary superstar's battle with a life-altering disease." The most heart-wrenching moment occurs at the end of the doc - a severe seizure attack of the 56-year-old is shown in full length.
"During this absence [from the stage], I decided to document this part of my life and try to sharpen awareness for this little-known disease for others who share this diagnosis, to help them," Dion said beforehand about her doc.
Céline Dion had also hinted at her desire to perform again herself. In the spring, the five-time Grammy winner announced in social media that she wanted "one day to be on stage again" and "to live as normal a life as possible." "It's not hard to make a show. It's hard to cancel one," she said in a trailer for her doc. "If I can't run, I'll crawl. But I won't give up!"
Céline Dion's alleged live music comeback in Las Vegas, despite her health challenges with Stiff Person Syndrome, has been the subject of recent rumors. Even if the comeback needs to be postponed to next year, fans are eager to witness her 70-minute shows, showcasing her resilience and love for music.
Despite her battles with SPS and the severe seizure attack depicted in her Amazon documentary "I Am: Celine Dion", the iconic singer Céline Dion continues to express her desire to perform live in Las Vegas, further fuelling the ongoing rumors about her music comeback.
